So tonight I saved the best for last of my postings :-) I meant to get to my blog earlier this week but I just didn't so I am posting the most recent things!
Saturday we were going to my parents for dinner and we were in charge of bringing a dessert, we wanted to do something cute and clever but it was so damn hot the day before and was pretty hot saturday as well that I got up early saturday morning so I could bake before it really heated up. I was originally going to bring lemon bars but they turned into a big flop!! So we just had Smore's at my parents house with our campfire :-)
But I tried out a new recipe that sounded so yummy and let me tell you these BIG cookies should not be eaten for breakfast by someone who is back onto Weight Watchers LOL, Thank god my work loves when I bring in baked goods :-)
They were so yummy...here is a sneek peak and I'll post the recipe later this week, but one of these and a big ol' glass of cold milk are so yummy!!

EERY MOONLIGHT
So the other day we had a whole day of really weird weather, at least weird for here. It was overcast, muggy and just plain HOT! And there was absolutely no breeze all day, which is really weird for here. So all day we suffered through HOT weather and it did not cool down all night. Even when it was 11pm at night there was no wind and a ton of clouds. I tried to take the best picture I could of it because it was so pretty. This picture really doesn't do it justice but I thought it was so pretty out and the clouds were completely still. It was really eery going outside at 11 PM, to HOT weather, no wind or breeze and it was extremely quiet in our neighborhood! Let me just say I am so happy the hot weather has left us :-)
Sunday Night New Recipe - Beef Taco Skillet
Hello My Fellow Bloggers
So we did a new recipe tonight. We tried, as the title says, Beef Taco Skillet.
Ingrendients:
1 Can Tomato Soup
1 lb Ground Beef
1/2 Cup Salsa
1/2 Cup Water
6 - 6 inch tortillas, cut in one inch pieces
Cheddar Cheese, shredded.
First I browned the meat and cut up the tortillas, then drained the meat. Then you put all the ingredients except the cheddar cheese into the skillet. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 5 minutes.

We then moved it into a casserole dish, sprinkled the cheddar cheese and popped it into the already warm oven (from the yummy corn muffins) and melted the cheese :-)
VOILA!!!
VOILA!!!
This new recipe was okay...seems like we haven't had a really good new recipe recently. But that's okay that's what this little "Adventure" is all about :-) We actually talked about how to improve it over dinner and decided that we want to just change it into taco skillet. So we are going to do a redo one night soon and use 1 lb ground beef, a home made taco seasoning, tortillas and the 1/2 cup water. just throw it all together in the skillet and leave out the cheddar cheese, it would have been better without :-) So nice and simple!!

Late Update!!
Hello Bloggers
So I know I was MIA this past weekend and we were horrible...we did not do a new recipe this past sunday! We both just wanted to snack, so I had cereal and he had a sandwich :-)
But Saturday he went to the 49ers and Raiders pre season game so I had the whole day to myself! I decided to do a little sewing all afternoon :-) I sewed up some t-shirts my Paps asked me to alter for him. Just taking the sleeves off and making them tanks. And then I decided to make my Parent's dogs Maggie and Wyatt some cute little bandana's to wear. I made Maggie a really pretty purple flower one and then Wyatt got a Raider's one cause my Paps is a HUGE Raiders fan! He was also at the game with my Seester so once I finished up the bandana's I took them down to my Parents. My Mom and I put the bandana's on and then we hung out for a bit!!
Here is Wyatt

I had a really great weekend. Friday night I hung out all night with Chuck's sister, we just relaxed and watched some movies. Saturday as stated above I got to sew and relax. And sunday we just hung out, did homework and enjoyed a overall relaxing weekend!
Last night we went on Date Night :-) We went and had Pizza at a family owned local place. It was so yummy! And then we went to the movies. At one of our theaters they do a tuesday night special, $4.50 tickets! And they play movies that aren't played at the main theaters anymore so we went and saw Transformers 2. I love the first one but I'm not usuallly a fan of sequels. The 2nd one would have been better had it not been 2 1/2 hours long. I liked it though. Chuck really liked it which is all that matter since I planned this suprise date night for him :-)
And then today has been one hell of a day. I had just gotten back to a normal work week and feeling better, then bam I come home on lunch today and my neighbor comes over asking if I could help her jump her car since mine was parked next to hers. So i agreed and we had to get our other neighbors help cause we weren't positive on how to do it. I guess our other neighbor wasn't sure exactly how to do it using my car cause he ended up blowing out my power steering fuse. I was so annoyed. So I called my Mom and she came to the rescue. We were able to get it towed to the dealership for free and now I'm just waiting. But it sucks cause I'm missing my class tonight :-(
Just wanted to do a quick update since it's been over a week since I blogged! Hope everyone is having a GREAT week!!

Fresh out of the oven. The sauce was so greasy! Yuck, so we just ate the meatballs without the sauce mixture.
I ate mine with some leftover mashed potatoes from last nights dinner and made some garlic bread. I just took a piece of a sourdough baguette, mixed some butter, garlic powder, basil and a little bit of oregano, spread the butter mixture onto the loaf, topped with mozzarella cheese, then cooked for about 10 minutes at 375 in the oven ;-) It's always a yummy hit! i love making our own garlic bread.
Chuck decided to turn his into a meatball sandwich. And this is definitley the way to go with these. I didn't finish my meatballs but he hate his entire sandwich. He just put it on slice sourdough baguette (toasted) with the meatballs, marinara sauce, and mozzarella cheese. Popped into the oven for a few minutes and enjoyed! It was better than the meatballs on their own, but we both agree it's not a keeper!
So first Sunday night dinner disappointment! Oh well.
Made some Lemon Bars yesterday that are amazing, I will post pictures later and then made some chocolate chip muffins today
I haven't been my normal self this weekend so I have been home all weekend relaxing and doing nothing, so I finally got tired of sitting around and baked a little bit. I will get the dessert and muffins up later :-)
Hope you all had a great weekend!

Sunday Dinner - 8/9/09
So it's been a SUPER HOT day here and we almost ended up BBQing hamburgers for dinner instead of a new recipe but Chuck convinced me to continue on with our new recipes. Plus we had to turn the oven on anyways because I needed to make a bundt cake for dinner at my Seesters tomorrow. She claims she's not a fan of home made cakes but I'm determined to change her mind with my Bundt Cake recipe! So we did make a new recipe and I'm so happy we did. Even with the heat it was so worth it!!
So........for our Sunday night new recipe dinner we did an Italian Bow Tie Pasta Bake :-)
Ingredients:
8 ounces Bow Tie Pasta
1 lb ground beef
2 Cups Marinara Sauce
1 Packet Italian Seasoning
Mozzarella Cheese
First you need to boil the noodles and brown the ground beef. While the noodles are cooking and the meat browning pour the marinara sauce and the packet of Italian Seasoning into a bowl and mix together. Drain the meat and the noodles than add to the mixture!

We also decided to have some homemade garlic cheese bread. We got a loaf of sourdough bread from Safeway, cut it in half and spread our homemade garlic butter onto the top, then sprinkled mozzarella cheese on that!
The Finished Product!! It looks and smells so GOOD!!
We kept it as light as we could tonight with just the pasta bake and the garlic cheese bread! It was really delicious. It was almost like spaghetti with an extra kick of flavor from the Italian Seasoning :-) And super easy! We are definitely making this one a keeper in the recipe box!

Now I am off to watch the movie Grandma's Boy for Sunday night movie night! It's such a dumb movie but we love it! And since we watched Role Models last night we are sticking to our stupid movie weekend :-) Later this week we are watching the Soloist!!
Back to work tomorrow...I wish weekends for 5 days and workweeks were only 2 days! I never have enough time in the weekend. I didn't get to scrap or sew this weekend :-(
Happy Sunday Everyone!

Hello Bloggers :-)
So this week has been a long week at work and full of stresses! But I thought I'd share a cute picture of my little baby girl cuddling with her dad on the couch!
She curled right up into his lap and snuggled up for a nap :-) She's such a cuddler! Lately both the dogs have been extra cuddly but this was such a good opportunity to take a picture! And you better believe I'll be scrapbooking it :-)
And then this past Monday night I had my Seester and My cousin come over for dinner. My Seester loves Pesto and Asparagus so I had an idea! I took the Bow Tie Pasta with Ham and Asparagus recipe and changed it. It was so much BETTER!!
I just made the bow tie pasta (well I boiled the noodles)
Then we cooked off some slices of chicken.
Made some Pesto sauce from a packet!
Chopped up and cooked the asparagus, tossed it all together and TA DA!
It was so yummy and it was eaten up quickly :-) We had some biscuits and salad and then Banana Snack cake for dessert! It was so nice to have my Seester over for dinner and it was fun hanging with my little cousin!
So this weekend we are attending a BBQ tomorrow, then Sunday we are baking some blueberry scones :-) and a bundt cake for dessert for dinner Monday night at my Seesters. The scones will be for us and my work! I love scones and the best blueberry scone I have ever had actually is the Starbucks one. Sometimes they aren't as good but I found the MECCA of great scones at our Local Safeway Starbucks :-)
And then we are trying out a new recipe sunday night for dinner as our new tradition. Not sure what it is this week! But as always I'm excited!
I hope everyone has a great weekend! Hopefully I'll have my blog updated Sunday night with our new dinner recipe!

Saturday Sewing
So on Thursday I stopped by our JoAnn's in Rohnert Park and picked up some super cute fabric :-) And the bonus it was on clearance :-)
I picked out this cute cat fabric out of the remnants bin...I think I might use it for a little cat bed for Belle cause she loves to sleep next to me on the bed or right on the floor.
I picked out this awesome fabric for $3/yard!! I love the pattern! I am going to use it to make my grocery tote bags! It is just so awesome! I might even make a monitor cover for the computer monitor!
So my Mom has been teaching me how to make an apron from a pattern, cause I am learning to sew. I haven't posted any pictures yet, so here is the apron so far! I have now learned to make a pocket, sew on rick rack and I can also sew on bias tape :-) I have now completed it to this point. On Friday I am headed back down to my Mom's to finish it up! And I am making my Grammy one for her birthday! She has no idea that I'm learning to sew so I want to suprise, since she's a sewer! It's turning out so cute and it's at the same stage as mine!
I was so happy to get my apron done this far. Now for this week I am making some potholders to match my Grammy's apron, hemming my Paps t-shirts into tank tops, and hopefully starting my grocery totes!

I didn't get to scrapbook like I wanted to but I have next weekend!! It has been so nice not leaving the house at all this weekend!
So next weekend I plan on sewing with my Mom on friday (I have the day off work YAY!), then scrapbooking or sewing on saturday until we go to my friend Ben's BBQ, and then Sunday hopefully scrapping or sewing all day!
Oh and today I also got my sewing desk top painted green again. Hopefully it will work this time since I sanded it down and primed it. I am anxious to get my scrapbook room completed! Although I did pick up some new decorations that I need to make for it!!
Well I will wrap this up, posting tonight's dinner right after this! It was YUMMY!
