Happy Halloween!!

With Halloween right around the corner we knew we had to get our cards out soon! After spending a few hours crafting up some home made cards I am sad to say that half received home made and half recieved store bought! Granted last year all that I sent were bought so definitely a step up from last year! Who knows maybe in 2012 I can hand make ALL the cards!

For now I want to leave you with the cards I crafted up this year! Hopefully everyone has now recieved their cards!!

So Spook-Tacular!

I couldn't resist, both Frankie and Jack look like they just saw a ghost :)

One of my faves because of all the glittery goodness!

Hope your Halloween is very Bewitching!

This is the very first card I made! I love it!

Casper even made an appearance!

I hope everyone has a very very Happy and Safe Halloween!!

Falling Leaves - Crafty Time

I was so excited to sit down in my Scrapbook Room awhile ago to work on Crafts that I completely forgot to post this lovely work of art!

I found the idea from this very cool blog - Happy Clippings!

I just had to make a quick stop at Michael's for the felt leaves, then JoAnn's for the buttons (which I fell in love with).

I got home and laid out my supplies and got to work!

First I cut out the tree using my Cricut and the My World Cricut Cartridge.

Then I cut out little squares (I think I made them 1 x 1) for the letters. Now the original crafter used Scrabble tiles but I couldn't even imagine "stealing" tiles from our game so I just made a little change!

I actually just used from plain black Alphabet stickers for the letters!

Than I laid it all out, made sure everything lined up right and then began gluing everything into place!

I was so happy with how this turned out and I honestly cannot remember what got me to the blogger who first created this but I am ecstatic I did!!

After much consideration on where to place this we decided the front door would be ideal! Added in a few Halloween touches and voila - entryway table decorated!

Unfortunately this post has a sad ending...One morning Chuck walked past the table and must have knocked it just right because the frame came crashing down and knocked off the little ghost in the middle and the Jack o Lantern to the left. Smashing the Jack O Latern and Ghost to pieces but the frame stayed in tack....for now...

About two days later I closed our door and it was enough to knock the frame down another time :-( Luckly just the frame shattered and not my other pumpkin but now I'm on the hunt for a heavy frame which I'm going to get before November 1st so that this little baby can be put up for our Autumn/Fall Decorations!

Anyone else been crafting any Holiday crafts?

Pumpkin Pickin'

Another great fall layout! I had such a blast scrapbooking this one, using yet another Storyteller's Layout!
Chuck and I love Halloween time! We go all out and decorate the entire house, we even have our little Halloween village we put up, so of course we had to go to a local pumpkin patch.

Unfortunately we haven't been able to go the last 2 years on our own so scrapbooking this was somewhat bittersweet! Hopefully this year we can go again!

It was so hard narrowing down pictures but I had to include one of that cute sign!

Aside from the Storyteller's layout I also used some random fall stickers I had!

And of course the carving!!!

Chuck was hungry so he decided to eat some pumpkin guts :-) JK!

We had a little Halloween dinner that night with just our sisters and us! It was so much fun!

Looking at those cupcakes is making me hungry :-) I think I might be running out of fall layouts to scrapbook! Anyone else all caught up on a particular season or holiday?

Happy Belated Halloween!!!

I hope everyone had an awesome halloween!! Our was pretty low key but I did make some festive Halloween cupcakes!

Originally I was making these for our Halloween Potluck at one of my offices but then last minute they had to change the date and I was at my other office that day :-(

But Saturday Chuck, his Sister, and I were going to hang out and watch the game so I whipped these up real quick saturday afternoon! As I was innocently decorating them in Halloween colors I realized I was also decorating them in the SF Giants colors! Being as we live in the Bay Area and Chuck's family are huge San Francisco team fans I knew he'd be happy. Me on the other hand, the A's fan and hater of Giants, not so happy! I considered removing the frosting and using a different color but hey it was Halloween!

I picked up the cute papers and toppers at Target! I just love the little mummy guy!

On actual Halloween we just had another low key night. When we first moved into our Condo we were so excited hoping to have trick or treaters that the first year we bought a HUGE bag of Candy and we got ZERO trick or treaters! Last year we didn't buy any candy and had 2 kids show up at the door. So this year I figured why not be prepared and I bought 2 six packs of the mini Snickers and mini Reese's. I figured if we get Trick or Treaters that'd be plenty and if not it wasn't too much crap leftover. Well we had one group come and CLEAN US OUT!! I was really excited but then felt bad turning the light off, especially when another group came around and we had to ignore them :-(

Did anyone do anything fun for Halloween?

It's So SPOOKTACULAR!

Chuck and I are always really excited when October 1st comes rolling around because that means it times to really jazz up the house. We love decorating for Holidays and while I put out the fall decorations in September the house isn't super festive until October. And guess what??? IT'S OCTOBER!!

We pulled out our three tubs of Halloween decorations!! Yes they are black to coordinate with Halloween...I like to be organized.

While we started with the inside decorating first I am going to show you our decorations working from the outside in. We actually just finished our decorating of the outside last night...this year we only did our front patio. The back patio will get decorated next year!!

Welcome to our Home!

Don't you just love our Welcome sign! My Aunt and Uncle gave us that for our Housewarming gift along with holiday banners and an everyday banner!

This year we decorated the door. Usually that gets wrapped out the front pole but I thought itd be more fun on the door. And yes I was right :-) Also those "heads" hanging from the door handle and on the side of the condo are motion sensored. Meaning they move and make noise when someone comes close to them. I LOVE IT!

Here is our little Halloween village that we set up on the breakfast bar. This is Chuck's favorite part of our decorations and he always sets it up :-) It's pretty neat, two of the pieces light up and make noise! We have found all of these pieces in Michael's but this year we didn't really care for the new stuff.

Our entry table got a little festive!

We both LOVE this sign. We got it at Michaels for like 40% last year and it's just so perfect and fun! It hangs in our entryway.

The mantel all done up! We love our candle holders!

The tv stand!

This is a pumpkin Chuck bought me a couple years ago. If you plug him in he glows green! I just love him cause he's fun but kind of spooky! He gets to sit inside this year since we don't have a plug outlet in the front!

My two favorite scarecrows! I found these dolls a few years ago and this is the first year they needed minor repairs. But Mr and Mrs Scarecrow are loving their spot on the bookcase. And that little ghost figurine is another favorite of mine. Chuck and I were out shopping last year and I fell in love with him, but we were trying to only buy what we needed as we were saving money up and Chuck slyly put him in the basket. I didn't even notice til we were checking out :-)

These shelves are on our dining room wall. I love candles and firmly believe the more the merrier!

The other side of the dining room wall...

And last but not least the bathroom downstairs. We only decorate downstairs now because no one but us goes upstairs.

These guys are on the shelf above the toilet! I'm sure for a guy it might be a little creepy to have them staring at you while you are handling your business but I just love them. I found them at a local Dollar Store a few years ago. They actually stay out until after Thanksgiving!

And I am very proud of this guy. I put this together a few years ago. I bought the actual scarecrow but I put together the bag and the fall floral items that are with him. He's survived being attacked by the cats (nearly on a daily basis now) and being smushed a few times in a box. What a trooper! :-)

And just a few sink items. Another fall figurine from the dollar store and a cute candle holder Chuck bought me!

And then of course we have to have wall decorations!

I found these signs awhile ago. I can't even remember where I got them, probably the dollar store as when I first moved out thats where I bought most of my holiday decorations! They really do carry some cute items!

Well that's all folks! We love how decked out our house is from September to January 1...granted we are ready to put things away on New Years but the house is so much more fun during Halloween, Thanksgiving, and of course Christmas!

Anyone else all decorated for Halloween?

HALLOWEEN/FALL DECORATION TIME!! WOO HOO

So Chuck was really anxious to put out his new Halloween decoration for his village! Unfortunately once we started unpacking we realized it was all the Halloween decoration and we are missing some Fall decorations. I think they got put in with the Christmas stuff last year after we took it down and put up the Christmas stuff. But here are some snapshots of some Halloween decorations!

This is one of the shelves above the TV, there are three shelves!!

Here is one shot of the village, that's the haunted mansion we got last year. We had to wait on this one until it got closer to Halloween because it was the display model! But it was worth the wait!

The new piece this year is the one all the way to the left! It's a mortuary/graveyard. It's fun!
I wish we could have gotten all the items lit up to show in this picture but we couldn't...So you will have to trust me that it looks AMAZING!!

And these shelves are in the dining room wall! On the shelves there are leaves laid down underneath all the figures and candle holders :-) These are my favorite!!

So that's about it. We added more decorations but I only took a few pictures. And I am hoping to find my other fall decorations this week. I love my little scarecrows and I would be heartbroke if they got lost somewhere!!

Now I just need to light some apple cinnamon candles and a pumpkin spice latte :-) I am so excited we are moving into Fall and I can't wait for the weather to show that it's fall!

New Fabric

The other day I picked up this fabric to make a table runner for the fall season :-)
It only took me about an hour to do the table runner which turned out great. I was a little bummed at first when the fabric wasn't long enough to hang off the table but then I realized it's better so our cats don't play with it.
Here it is with the fall floral arrangement I mage. I am so happy the colors don't clash, I was a little worried but I just had to have the flowers and I just fell in love with the fabric.

I had just enough left over to make a couple little "covers" for our end tables. Which we got off Craigslist recently, which I'll post better pictures next :-) I'm not really sure what to call these but they are just enough to tie in the table runner to the living room tables.

This is the little side table I use all the time so the fabric won't get seen much, I always have magazines or books LOL, but it works. They are a little small but they work.

Overall it was a successful sewing day. I will probably get my Halloween ones done this week.

New HOLIDAY Fabrics

So I stopped by JoAnn's Fabrics and WalMart on Monday after going to have lunch with the honey! I picked up some awesome fabrics and all were on sale YAY!!

I got these at Walmart...only $2.44 a yard. I only got half a yard of each cause I'm going to use them to make the dogs holiday bandanas and use some to make bandana's for the Dog Adoption place we used to volunteer, they like to make the dogs festive for adoption days and one of those days lands on Halloween this year :-)

I got these at JoAnn's. They were 25% off and originally $6.99 a yard. I got the fall one to make a table runner for the kitchen table and the Halloween to make a table runner for October. We may use them for underneath the TV on the TV table or for the Kitchen table. I may even have enough to use for both! I love it!

I got these christmas fabrics in a little bin at JoAnn's for only $1.79. Not sure what I will use them for but there is enough to do something with them! I am so excited to start working with all these.

But first I need to finish up the aprons I started...they are the most annoying aprons to make ever and I'm not even liking the way they look. But I am going to finish them and then I got a new apron pattern to do my other aprons with. Hopefully those will turn out better! But I can't wait to make our fall table runner, I am just so in love with the fabric. And in the next post I'll show you the floral arrangement I made for the fall season :-)
