Baked Chicken with Pasta Sauce

So Wednesday Night I made Baked Chicken with Pasta Sauce! And it was DELISH!!! And super easy!! I got the recipe from the Taste of Home 5 Ingredient Recipe Magazine!!

Here is a link to the recipe:

http://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/Baked-Chicken-with-Pasta-Sauce

For us I cut it in half!

The cheese and sauce. I used a mix of Italian Blend cheeses and shredded parmesan cheese.

The chicken right out of the oven!

Before it went in for the last 15 minutes!

TA DA! The final product. I place the chicken on top of the noodles and then placed some extra sauce from the pan around the chicken!

It was so yummy, it tasted extremely similar to chicken parmigana, and it was really easy!

And it will be nice to not cook tonight! I am headed down the parents for dinner and further sewing direction on my apron! We are full of leftovers in our fridge so we will be picking our way through those this weekend!

I am so happy tomorrow is Friday!! I just want to sew and scrapbook this weekend and relax. I am turning my cell phone off and staying in my pj's all day if I want!

I will hopefully have some projects to update you on over the weekend!!

And I'll be starting a new book! School starts again in a couple weeks and I just got my book list for my history class, along with my business in the global aspect class so I know I won't have time for much extracurricular reading that goes past magazines.

My projects for the weekend:

- Bake a new dessert recipe I found
- Sew my apron
- Cut out and start sewing second apron
- Cut out fabric for grocery bags
- Finish Potluck scrapbook page
- Paint sewing desk (it should work this time YAY)
- Scrapbook one other page (not sure which one yet)

I am hoping to accomplish a lot this weekend and fully plan on staying home Saturday and Sunday!! I don't want to go anywhere!!

Hope Everyone is Having a Great Thursday!
AND HAVE A GREAT FRIDAY!!

Bow Ties with Asparagus and Ham

So apparently I'm on a new recipe kick, probably because with Chuck down and out he can't bbq and I am bored with all our other recipes HAHA. So I bought the Taste of Home: 5 Ingredient Recipes book and am going to pick my way through :-) It has a lot of great recipes that are easy and look really yummy.

So yesterday I decided to try this one. It was really easy and very yummy. What I loved was instead of a really heavy cream sauce it was really light so I didn't feel overstuffed. And on the plus side: Chuck liked it too!! He is one of the pickiest eaters so I've been happy that he's liked the last two new recipes I have tried.

Anywho the ingredients are:

16 ounces bow tie pasta
1-1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
1 lb fresh asparagus (I would add more than that if you aren't willing to eat every piece of the asparagus, I'm not a fan of the butt ends so I wanted more asparagus)
3 tablespoons water
1/2 cup shredded parmesan cheese
6 ounces deli ham or prosciutto.

First you cook pasta noodles as normal.

Then start on the whipping cream. Bring it to a boil and let simmer for 6-7 minutes.

Cut up your asparagus into 1 inch pieces. Then put pieces of asparagus in a microwave safe dish with the water, heat for 3-4 minutes then drain.

After draining the pasta, put bow tie pasta, cream, asparagus, parmesan cheese, and ham (or prosciutto) into a dish and toss together! Then serve.

We had some garlic bread with it and it was so YUMMY!

Also we tried the bundt cake on Sunday and it was DELICIOUS!! I ended up bringing the leftovers into work. I had two very full plates of bundt cake slices and by the end of the work day the plates were empty! Everyone loved it, and the coffee in the cake was a big selling point :-) Most people at corporate are coffee addicts, Starbucks is within a 5 minute walk :-)

So now I am just finishing up with work for the day, then I am headed to JoAnn's to get some rick rack for an apron I will be starting after I finish the apron I am working on now. Then I am going to peruse the on sale/clearance fabric to see if there is any cute fabric to make some reusable grocery bags! There is a pattern in the sewing book my parents got me for my birthday! It seems pretty simple and with my mom's help I am learning to read sewing patterns YAY! I am still planning on taking a sewing class at either Beverly's or JoAnns (not sure if JoAnn's offers) once I have the extra cash. But yeah probably won't find any fabric I want/need and I have some cute fabric I already bought on clearance that might work, just don't think I have quite enough!

Anywho...I should finish up work, only 40 minutes left, benefits of starting work at 7, I may be dog tired and out like a light by 10 pm but I like being done with work at 3:30, gives me more time for crafts :-)

Oh and on a side note Chuck and I are so excited! Today is the One Year Anniversary of us getting the key to our condo!! This time last year we were sweating it on when we were getting the key since there were delays in closing, but now here we are, new floors, some new paint, a second dog LOL, and some new decorations. The condo is coming a long nicely and once the cash flow is more active we are going to do the flooring upstairs and the garage. The goal is to paint the entire garage, including floors, and put in new shelving :-) I want everything hidden away! But those are the next big projects on the lists, until then we will continue to check out thrift stores, garage sales, and craigslist for furniture to update and add to our home!! I am just as excited to be a homeowner as I was this time last year!

Hope everyone is having a great wednesday!!
P.S On the dinner menu tonight, Baked Chicken with Pasta Sauce and cooked carrots! (or salad)!

My Sunday

Hello On this Lovely Sunday,

Today I woke up late after going to the Paramore/No Doubt concert last night!! It was AMAZING!! I had a blast!!

After I finally crawled out of bed and into the shower I went to the grocery store! Chuck and I had decided that each sunday we would try out a new recipe for dinner to spice up our weekly menu routine. We tend to eat the same things each week because we like them and they are easy. So I had to buy a few groceries and I decided to make stuffed shells!! I also decided to make a bundt cake from scratch :-)

Here are the steps to making the bundt cake, which was SUPER EASY!! We haven't eaten it yet but we will be trying it out tonight :-)

Can you believe that it's 1 cup of hot coffee to the left that the recipe required!!

I can't wait for dessert tonight!!

And here is what we had for dinner :-) I ended up making it because Chuck is having some medical issues so he's been upstairs all day, the poor guy!!

The Finished Product!!!

The stuffed shells turned out wonderful! We also had salad with home grown cucumbers (Thanks Mom and Paps) and some rolls :-) It was wonderful!

Aside from baking and cooking I sewed a little, did laundry and cleaned up the house a little. My Mom and I started a little sewing project on Friday but didn't get to finish it. I wanted to sew an apron so my Mom came up to help me out and we started it, I had to finish sewing my pocket it for it today which it came out great! I was pretty excited because I was nervous about sewing some rick rack onto it but it came out great! Once I am done with my apron I will post pictures!
Now I am just writing my blog, waiting for laundry to dry and watching "What Happens in Vegas". I love it! And then I'll paint my nails and make my lunch for work tomorrow!
I hope everyone had a great sunday! Here's to a great week! I hope!!

FINALLY A NEW POST

So I've been away from my blog for a LONG time now. But I finally have some stuff to update on. I have been busy dealing with school and work and until recently haven't scrapbooked, done home updates, or taken very many pictures. So now I can do a little more updating YAY! My class ends this week and I'm hoping to scrapbook and/or sew a lot in between my class ending and the next ones starting!
So things I have been up to recently
- Finally started sanding down my sewing desk so I can repaint it and hopefully have it work this time. Will hopefully get it sanding the primer painted this week, then let that dry and paint the top green again :-)
- Had a BBQ with the parentals last night and it was fun! We spent the night playing on the old school Nintendo. We played Mario and a Bill Elliot racing game I got for my Paps. It was ridiculous how horrible the graphics were LOL.
- Chuck finally finished up the floor in the living room. We now have the trim around the fireplace and the threshold between the tile and flooring. It looks great!!
- A lot has changed at work and things will hopefully get better. Have to commute two days a week now which sucks but I'm happy to still have a job and one that I do enjoy.
- Did some scrapbooking, attached picture below :-)
- And then just hanging with the honey and our puppies and cats! Today is the first day we've got to just relax with nothing to do and I'm loving it. I just finished up a book I was reading and am going to start another one here in a second!! Just wanted to do a little blog update :-) Hope everyone is having a great summer so far! I personally can't wait for winter, but I love "crappy" weather :-)
Here is the Valentine's Day Scrapbook Page that I just made. I am not sure if I am completely finished. I am thinking of adding some more stickers....

And here is the threshold with the floors, haven't taken a picture of around fireplace yet.

And that's about it for now!! Have a Wonderful Relaxing Sunday!!
